"Boy," said Genma in his 'sensei' tone of voice, "You have progressed enough in your study of the Art to learn your first special technique"
Ranma was, of course, excited about the prospect "Oooooh... What is this technique, dad!?"
"It is a secret technique called the Neko-Ken," answered Genma, "Now don't move while I prepare you for the training exercise"
"Um... Dad? Why are you tying fish sausages on me? I don't understand..."
"Hush, boy! It is an essential part of the training! Now, make me proud and learn the Neko-Ken!" Then Genma shoved his only son in a pit full of starving cats.
Predictably, the hungry felines proceeded on mauling the young boy in order to get at the food tied on his body. Ranma was clawed and bitten all over with no way of escape. It took him only a few seconds to beg for help from his father.
"AAAAAAH! NOOOOOO! DADDY! IT HURTS! LET ME OUT! AAAAAAIIIIIEEE!!!"
Genma, sitting right next to the pit, heard Ranma's call for help but didn't move "Ranma! The training has barely started! Now stop whining like a weak little girl and learn the Neko-Ken!"
"NOOOOOO! NOT MY EYES! HELP ME! SOMEONE, HELP!!!"
Desperation, pain, shed blood and plain survival instinct activated Ranma's gift. Suddenly, Genma was covered by a huge shadow.
"RRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR!!!"
The portly master of Anything Goes was frozen in place. He gulped in dread and slowly turned to get a look at whatever creature had let out such a mighty roar. His eyes widened.
Slitted eyes sitting atop a great reptilian snout with a mouth full of sharp teeth stared back at him. The low rumble and evil gaze of the giant monster left little doubt of his intentions.
"Saotome secret technique!" *ZOOOOOOOOM!* Genma had realized that he would be better off somewhere else, preferably far, far away from here.
The dragon didn't pursue him as the one who called her was in danger. A claw idly ripped the wood cover of the pit open. After having freed Ranma, she took flight, searching for a safe place for him to recover.
It had been millenia since she had been called in this world. So many things had changed, she mused. For the gift to return, surely there was need for the ancient dragons of the Moon Kingdom, thought...
