Because not only had her awakening meant that there were evils to face, but humans had been given ample time to come up with ways of getting to her if she wasn't careful.
Yet, it was her charge that was her biggest priority. He had been put into harm's way, for some reason she could not fathom. Perhaps it was a way of getting rid of him, or some silly ritual that wouldn't have worked anyway. In either case, she didn't care about that at the moment, and was only thinking about the person who'd put the boy in danger as a secondary thing. Right now, she needed to make sure that he wasn't hurt, and that meant finding a safe place to land.
Like the cliff she'd just seen, which had plenty of landing room, and caves nearby that had enough room in the entrance for her to fit into.
Banking towards them, she dropped down, careful not to jar her passenger. She came in slowly, her feet barely bumping into the ground when she landed. Taking some time to settle herself, she put down the boy, and tried to make him as comfortable as she could.
And then she let out an involuntary hiss as she saw the assorted scratches, cuts and other injuries that he had gotten.
'That's it. If I ever find that fat human, he's getting a shock he'll never forget,' she thought to herself, as she looked down at the one who had called her, who was:
