Although he had told them he could do it in a day, three weeks after that the she-male Ranma had still been in floating in a bio-tank. In fact it had taken the better part of the year until the monster had finally set a time for his ‘masterpiece’ to be finished. More than once Afrom’s group had thought about taking the boy by force, but that would of caused some problems.
1) Sk'llkrft had mentioned something about removing him from the bio-tube early would have… freakish consequences
and 2) Weakened and exiled or not, a Splugorth intelligence was more than a match for their crew.
So, once again, Afrom and the others had returned at the appointed date. He just hoped the damn thing had gotten all the creativity out of its system.
“Ah come in, in now. Have payment yes?” the creature asked with its voice that seemed to come everywhere at once.
Grunting, the wolfen dropped the heavy as hell chest onto the ground and kicked it open. Across him, he could almost see the Splugorth’s eye shimmer with greed. Damn thing, there was well over one hundred million credits worth of gems in there, enough for his entire group to retire in wealth off of. But here they were spending it on some kid.
Well, Afrom didn’t join up with the others to get rich.
“Okay,” the wolfen said to bring the creature back to reality. “Now where is he?”
“Oh yes boy, in back room on table,” it said before the chest seemingly moved on its own accord towards the Splugorth’s eye. “ Should awaken within the hours. Much repairs and upgrades I have given, you will be most satisfied.” For a moment it went silent while looking at the gems, then turned to the wolfen, as if suddenly remembering something. “Yes, almost forgot. During the upgrades I found the he-she posses some psychic abilities. Small things, nothing important, but not my work.”
“Fine,” Afrom replied before once again heading to the back room.
“Something else,” the Splugorth spoke up again, causing the wolfen to stop in his tracks and suppress an annoyed growl. Then a second later, a small scroll from the side of the table floated over in front of Afrom’s face before he snatched it out of the air. “List of replacements and upgrades. You can go now.” Then the wolf-man frowned as he the feeling, had the monster in front of him had hands, he would have been waved off.
Suppressing yet another growl of anger, Afrom merely opened the scroll as he headed towards the door near the back of the room.
