In a manner of speaking, Ruby....

As I was saying, Amethyst, I created a life-sized duplicate of myself and left it in my bed at my apartment.

Won't somebody find out it isn't you if they came by?

Fear not, Ruby, I hardly have visitors there. Should someone come to visit, I will be able to control my duplicate remotely. I am confident no one will suspect anything amiss should the need arise.

Amethyst, Master asked me that our plugsuits become an alternate costume to wear to help keep our geniefication secret from the others who do not know.

That sounds like a great idea, Sapphire!

That includes you, Amethyst.

Me? But I'm not an EVA pilot. I'm even too old to be one!

With a thought, Sapphire shifted from her genie garb to her plugsuit. A moment later, at the sight of Sapphire's transformation, Ruby did the same.

You are one, Amethyst, by virtue of being part of our genie sisterhood.

Granted, you'll need sync testing and proper simulation training that Dr. Akagi can give you--

Startled, Amethyst and Ruby looked at Sapphire inquisitively.

Such a revalation at an inopportune time would disrupt Master's father's well laid plans...perhaps irrevocably....

Amethyst looked to Ruby and then to Sapphire thinking I can't believe I'm doing this.... All right, I'll try.

Amethyst closed her eyes and concentrated....

Sweat beaded Amethyst's forehead....

Her genie garb began to glow in shifting hues of purple....

The glow slowly covered her whole body from her neck down to the soles of her feet....

A few seconds later, the glow disipated....

Amethyst felt a great burden suddenly lift. Did it work?

Sapphire and Ruby smiled and exerted some of their power for Amethyst's benefit....

They beamed in unison.

Amethyst opened her eyes and gasped in awe and wonder at what she saw....

Standing in front of a full-length mirror, she saw herself garbed in her very own plugsuit. It was colored in appealing shades of purple and trimmed in black, green, and other colors in a manner similar (but not identical) to Sapphire and Ruby's plugsuits. I-It's...beautiful.... She reached up and touched her hands to the two small, dainty, cute, purple cones, each with a thin black line spiraled around them, that poked through the top of her hair on her head. These must be the EVA control access ports. surmised the violet-eyed plugsuited genie.

Amethyst held up her gloved hands to examine them with her own eyes, turning them over and back again. Looking up, she saw Sapphire and Ruby standing on either side of her. She embraced her two genie sisters in her arms in firm, yet tender hug. Thank you, Sapphire....Thank you, Ruby....Thank you for believing in me!... Amethyst shed a few tears in heartflet gratitude....

Amethyst broke the embrace. A few seconds later, she scratched the back of her head and noted sheepishly: Looks like I'll be seeing Ritsuko immediately to start my career as an EVA pilot after all!

Thats the spirit!

At that, the three genies felt a collective summoning of their power....

Master calls us!

Amethyst, Sapphire, and Ruby became glowing silhouettes of shifting hues of purple, blue, and red that faded away seconds later....

Shinji, dressed for school, was standing in the dining area of Misato's apartment, taking in the sight of his three goregeous, plugsuited genies before him....

"Well Master, how do I look?" asked Amethyst/Misato, turning around in place to show off her brand new plugsuit she wore.

"If I didn't know better, I'd probably be having a nosebleed right now." quipped Master/Shinji. "You look beautiful in that as do Sapphire and Ruby in theirs."

Asuka/Ruby sniffed the air, closed her eyes, and licked her lips. "Mmm, something smells good! Cooking breakfast, Master?"

"Yes, I am. For all four of us." replied Master/Shinji. "I've set out food for PenPen already."

"You needn't trouble yourself, Master. Amethyst, Ruby, or myself could have prepared breakfast within a moment's notice for your benefit." observed Sapphire/Rei cooly.

"That's true, but I want to show my appreciation for all you've done for us whenever possible and within my power to do so." replied Master/Shinji thoughtfully.

The three genies pressed the palms of their hands together against their bodies and bowed silently for a moment in unison to show their appreciation for what their master had just said to them....

"Thank you....All of you...." replied Master/Shinji heartfeltedly. "E-excuse me, let me go into the kitchen to bring out breakfast to the dining table. While I'm doing that, you three should change into your normal, public attire now."

"Yes, Master." choroused the three genies, their eyes flashing violet, blue, and red, as Master/Shinji walked into the kitchen. Sapphire and Ruby shifted into their school uniforms while Amethyst shifted into her normal black and red outfit.

Inside the kitchen, Master/Shinji paused for a moment to wipe away his tears. His genies had just demonstrated great honor to him when they bowed to him. Now, more than ever, he was determined to be the best master he could be for them....

Shinji gathered up breakfast on a large tray and took it out into the dining area so the four of them could start eating....

After breakfast....

"Master," began Sapphire/Rei.

"Yes, what is it, Sapphire" answered Master/Shinji.

"There is still one issue remaining that you must address."

"What is that?--Oh, yeah." Master/Shinji turned to Amethyst/Misato. "Amethyst...I wish you could drink beer again...if you want to...."

"Thank you, Master." answered Amethyst/Misato reverently, her eyes flashing violet for a moment. "I have found that sobriety is a truly wonderful thing to experience--more preferable than being in a state of semiconstant intoxication.... I thank you and my liver thanks you as well."

Amethyst/Misato heard drinking sounds near the floor. Her gaze (and those of the others as well) fixed on PenPen, who sat on the floor in a corner of the dining room drinking a can of Yebisu. PenPen lowered the empty can from his bill and burped.

"Oh PP-chan," singsonged Amethyst/Misato sweetly.

PenPen looked up at his mistress. "Waaark?"

"Did you enjoy that can of Yebisu?"

PenPen nodded rapidly for a moment. "Waaark!"

"You will find joy unspeakable in sobriety as I have, my dear little PP-chan." promised the violet-eyed genie in a cavity-inducing tone of voice.

"Waaark?...Waaark!" PenPen's eyes popped wide open, staring at Amethyst/Misato. A moment later, the empty beer can he held slipped from his flippers, clattered to the floor, and rolled away. His countennace became one of mourning. "Waaark." He had just imbibed the last of the alcoholic beverages available in the apartment and by his mistress' roundabout edict, there would be no more spirits to drink ever again!... Hmm, I wonder if I can procure and consume my chosen libation when my mistress is not around.... schemed the hot-spring penguin inwardly while maintaining his 'woe is me' visage....
