Let's see if she can handle being pulled in deeper, he thought as he nodded Ms. Ibuki. "I have just the thing, young lady."
Maya gave the wizard a tentative smile and bowed slightly before him. "Ummm... O-Okay..."
The wizard giggled and pulled something out of his robe suddenly. It was a vile, probably no longer or thicker than the man's middle finger, filled with a cloudy grey liquid. He handed the vial to Maya and bowed politely to her. "Drink that, and you'll have all the confidence you'll ever need..."
Maya looked at the contents of the vial with quite a bit of worry. "I'm supposed to drink this?"
"Oh, it's not poisonous," The wizard assured her in a reassuring voice, flashing her a warm smile as he did.
"Um, OK..." Maya nodded slowly as she carefully put the vial into her purse. "How much do I owe you, sir?"
"Well how much do you think confidence is worth?" The wizard asked, grinning softly as he did.
Maya smiled a friendly smile as she pulled a thousand yen out of her purse ($9.02 US) and gave it to the man. "Well lets see if it works, yes?"
The wizard smiled and took the money, slipping it into his robes as he smiled and went to the door, holding it open for Maya. "Very well, Ms. Ibuki. Enjoy your new confidence."
"Thanks you, sir..." Maya bit her lower lip and headed for the door. She suddenly stopped when she thought of something, looking over at the man again. "How do you know my name?"
The wizard winked at her and gave her a soft giggle, smiling heartily as he did. "Just a trick of the trade, Ms. Ibuki."
"Um, OK..." Maya then bowed and left the store, resuming her walk home. SHe looked at her purse and thought about the vial that was inside, wondering what she should do...
