So that meant that his son had done it, and he'd get even stronger. He'd have a supernatural beast on his side, undoubtedly giving him strength, speed and grace. Of course, they'd likely have to keep a little girl around, but sacrifices had to be made for the sake of the Art.
It had nothing to do that the 'little girl' in question was glancing up at him, her fingers curling so that her claws glinted in the light and was glowing so much that energy was crackling around her. Really.
Putting a large smile on his face, he reached down into the pit and pulled the boy out of it. "You did it son! You succeeded in this part of your training!"
"I did..?" Ranma asked in slight confusion.
"You did! That thing must have been what the manual was talking about!"
"'Thing'..?"
"Yes," his father confirmed, and then sweated as he noted that the little girl had gotten out of the pit, "That."
The little girl said nothing as she ripped apart the bindings around her human before she sniffed and licked where he was cut. In between tounge washings, she nuzzled and seemed to try and comfort him while sparing a wary glance at her boy's father.
"Hey... What are you..," the pigtailed boy began before seemingly realising something. "She's not a 'thing'!"
"Huh?" went the elder Saotome.
"She's my kitty!" he declared happily and hugged his small protector.
Happy with his reaction, she cuddled up to him and purred as she smiled.
Seeing the sweet scene would have made most people happy, but Genma merely groaned. It looked like his boy's mastery of the Catfist might still have some problems, which meant that he'd have to work around them. He didn't like having to put in the extra effort, but he had to if he was going to make his plans a success. Though he did want to seperate them before things got a bit too... nice...
The expression in her eyes dissuaded him from that course, and he let them have their moment, not that he felt threatened or anything.
So, Ranma and his transformed kitty snuggled a bit while:
