"I get the feeling she really ain't happy with ya, Pop," said a bemused Ranma. While it had been painful and scary - his pet had just learned one heck of a special manuever!
"Hissssssssss," said the catgirl, her eyes never leaving Bad Man.
Ranma remembered his pet, remembered what she liked, and began trying to calm her down. He talked quietly and gently to her, and after she'd started to relax began stroking her soft mane of hair.
That led to skritching her behind the ears, and her tail gradually stopped lashing around and the glow faded away. It wasn't until much later that she stopped watching Genma with that intensity that indicated she saw Genma as something to slice and dice.
"Murrrrr," said the catgirl as she leaned into an ear skritch, one eye remaining open to watch for any threatening move from Bad Man.
Genma was wondering how this could have occurred when an errant breeze blew a page over and he decided that perhaps the catfist hadn't been a good idea after all.
"Well, her eyes still kinda remind me of fireflies, so I guess she'll still be 'Hotaru'," said Ranma after awhile. "Though I guess I need to find her some clothes now."
"You think that's going to make a difference? Watch in awe," boasted Artemis, holding up the other prism.
