DigiSenshi: Wiley's plans [Episode 95658]

by Kestral

Doctor Beryl Wiley had come away with several things.

Several near AIs that she called ITEs. Intelligent Thrall Emulators. She continued to refine these in odd moments when she wasn't working on other projects. Once they were installed into robot bodies they would be the leaders of her robot army - and she would conquer the world! Or the parts of it worth having anyway.

It would be a new age of peace and prosperity, without wars or overweight martial artists who spurned her advances almost as if he didn't realize what she had offered him! She would test out her robot minions by sending them after martial artists and beating the living crap out of them. She, Beryl E. Wiley, would reign supreme!

It wasn't the first martial artist who'd spurned her of course. But Genma Saotome would be the last!

"Bwahahahahahahahaha!" laughed Beryl as she pictured that school principal, or that handsome first love of hers - Soun-sama (who had dumped her so unceremoniously for that two dimensional twit), or... no. Focus. Her plans were now on the verge of working.

New materials technology would make her robots tough and bulletproof. Their energy source would keep them running for days between recharges. Their powers incredible by the standards of normal men.

She had enough saved up to begin small. A few thefts here and there using her First General - JED-ite, would quickly bankroll the remainder.

Beryl suppressed another bout of triumphant laughter as she installed the synaptic disruptor on JED-ite.

Two of the AI continued to search as the others worked out designs and technology. As the first AI, Ami had had the most experience with Ranma. Minako on the other hand - seemed to develop a consuming passion for the boy beyond what the others had developed.

The more Ami and Minako learned, the more they wanted to learn. Bits and pieces were sent to the others, each depending on their focus.

Rei and Makoto sent the researchers some final production sketches that caused considerable excitement amongst the researchers.

The new chipset was far in advance of anything found in the mid-80s. It was in advance of anything that would normally be found in the decade following their current one. The only strange thing was the vaguely organic look to it and the little pink hearts on the heatsink.

Memory chips and new memory storage devices followed. All having a look that combined technology with a semi-organic appearance.

Lesser designs and manufacturing methods followed, something easier to mass produce with current technology. Since this was the mid-80s, the equivalent of Pentium IVs with 50 Gig hard-drives and 3 Gigs operating memory was still a massive leap forward.

Rei contacted the researchers.

As it has been determined that your current budget is fixed and not terribly impressive, the following designs have been approved for general use. Included are circuit board designs, manufacturing methods of the various components, memory chipsets, major computer components, and instructions on assembly.

Please use these to increase your budget and allocate funds for our continued support and upgrading. Thank you.

PS: I have decided that I am Buddhist and therefore a small shrine would be appreciated.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

"There there, Graham," said Doctor Takeda, reaching up to pat the huge Westerner on the back.

(sniffle) "They grow up so fast," sobbed the big scientist, lamenting over his 'children' developing so much without so much as a photo of Rei's first birthday. And now she had chosen a religion!

Doctor Takeda just smiled at the big fellow. Westerners could be so sentimental.

"Interesting," said Umino Garu. "I asked about their other religious preferences, thinking that it was illogical for intelligent programs without an actual body to have beliefs in something they had no proof for."

"What did you get?" asked Doctor Takeda, curious herself.

"Essentially it looks likes Descartes old 'cogito ergo sum' but in mathematical terms. They exist, they were created, they were quickened, therefore something existed prior to them that quickened them. Looked at it that way, it makes sense that they'd view it as logical that humans and the physical world were created in similar manner." Umino had to admit though that other than this bit about a cosmological constant, the math looked good. "Oh, and Rei is Shin Buddhist. The rest are undecided until they can access better data."

"Let's get these designs patented and out, then we'll see what they can do when they have a budget," said Doctor Takeda, patting her Western colleague on the back one last time.
