Ami was, however, fairly interested. She would occasionally slip and let out a comment or observation that would draw her friends' interests only to be overlooked as other events pressed on.
It started with a slight flush making itself shown, a dry mouth requiring the licking of lips, the occasional missed or stuttered breath, a faint shaking in normally still hands.
Within her was a war of impulses. Hormones played a bugle call of "charge" and perfectly normal impulses of a young girl facing a young man she found attractive were sending their messages along. There was also a strong desire to nurture and protect - being familiar with Ranma's background and with what his father put him through stirred the sort of desires that would lead her to follow her mother's career track as a physician.
Ami Mizuno found her self-control eroding even as she sought to examine her patient and was entirely well aware that not only was this her prince, he was her fiance and someone whose mind she had touched through the linkage they'd formed at Gakuen.
As he shifted ever so slightly, still lying on his belly, Ami wondered about playing with that pigtail. What would those lips taste like?
She was so distracted that she didn't realize what she had touched until Ranma's breath snorted in shock and she heard sounds of surprise from a number of her friends.
Ami realized that while checking his thigh muscles, her hand had strayed between and she had a good grip on... and-
