Fuyutsuki frowned as he went over the information. "Upon hearing of what the situation entailed, the First Child... went to the library."
"Pardon?"
"She went to do research, as she has apparently decided to be the 'best aunt that she can be'. And with that as her goal, she has gone about it in a rather... organised way, what with taking out books about pregnancy, giving birth, and child rearing."
"Has she now..."
"She has," the Vice-Commander confirmed, "Going so far as to suggest that she... 'provide the child with a playmate'."
It took a few tries for Gendo to comprhend that. "Would you explain that?"
"As far as we can tell, after it was cleared up that she wasn't about to sleep with the Third Child to get pregnant, she revealed that it was her plan to take a chosen partner so that she could have a child of her own."
"That should never have occured to her. How did that happen?"
"The agent that we had scheduling her activities for her, and pretty much raising her has apparently managed to bring her up so that she isn't the same girl that we thought she was. She even has a career chosen, and is aiming towards that, as well as relating better than she had been with those around her."
"Is that so..," Gendo drawled, regretting placing someone with dedication to his job in such an important position."
"In fact, she seems rather... attached to him, and he has become a rather important figure to her well being."
"How has this affected our situation?"
"We had a simulator run, and both the First and Third Children seem to be scoring much higher and staying there," Fuyutsuki replied, "And they seem dedicated to what they have to do as well."
"Is there anything else?"
"Hmm... There is:
