In the end, her actions were simply determined by acting without really thinking.
"No, don't!" Nabiki yelled at her, trying to dash over to stop her sister from going through what she had. There was little hesitation to try, even as she feared that she knew what would happen. But she knew that she had to, and felt that what the other girl was about to do was unneccessary, as well as only resulting in possible problems.
She wasn't as strong or as fast as her sister was however, and barely reached her as Akane put a pair of fingers into the shoe to scoop out the goo and put it into her mouth.
And she could only watch as she saw the younger Tendo gain what she had been seeking.
Akane's eyes bulged open as information flooded her brain and another girl's life flooded into her mind. But she didn't see what was in front of her as she was too caught up in it all. It was like for one moment she was wondering about the strange taste, and the next had her getting flashes of someone else's memories.
She saw the loss of everything that the girl had known.
She experienced a life of quietly growing up in a family made out of a need to belong.
She watched a military battle that raged in the city.
She felt the terror of the discovery of what had happened to her parent and the coming of a strange girl.
She went through being turned into goo, and...
Her mind nearly shut down at that point.
But just as she came back to herself, Akane realised that the girl had been:
