But as far as she could tell, there was no way to tell exactly where he was hiding. He must have had the time to get under control enough to keep from giving himself away, unlike many who used similar tricks. That meant that he could possibly keep silent and still long enough for her patience to fray before she found any sign of him.
However, she had more than one trick up her sleeve, and she knew that he would have no idea of what she could do. All it would take would be a bit of control on her part, and he'd have no idea of what hit him.
So, she acted as if she had no idea of what he'd done, just to make certain that the thieving pervert didn't catch on, and then she began to call on her powers to give him the shock of his life. Her eyes closed, and she began to chant under her breath for a special brand of flame. It would get rid of any sort of enchantment with its power, and would result in him having no chance to use whatever he had to get out of her grasp.
When she was certain that she had lulled him into a false sense of confidence, she let loose, allowing the sacred fire to bathe the room in its flames. It looked like more of it than it was, as the simple act of spreading out made it looked larger, but it would suffice.
Once it had done its job, she opened her eyes, and looked around, expecting to see a surprised thief.
Instead, she got a shock a second time as she saw that the doors were opening.
Realising that her sacred fire had burned away any enchantments that had kept them closed, she stared in dull shock for a moment. It took her that long to confirm that she'd done it again, and that this time, it wasn't going to be just another passageway.
