"Yes," came the reply from the sphere, "She's a young lady who specialises in dealing with menaces of a supernatual or magical nature."
"Really? How come I didn't hear 'bout that sorta thing?"
"Because its not something that's widely discussed. Those who need her services can contact her, and she finds plenty of clients on her own. And everyone who is aware of the mystical world that is kept secret in this time would be aware of her."
"They are?"
"So what you're telling us is that this is some sort of magical wondergirl and she's going to be engaged to him," Nabiki commented idly. "What's to say she won't have a problem with getting married to this lug?"
"HEY!" protested the pigtailed boy in question.
"I'm sure that the two of them will get along quite well indeed," the sphere said confidently.
As far as Lina was concerned, this was the life, or close to it. She got to travel around, make all the money she wanted, and eat as much great food as she could. The only thing that would make it better would be to have a mansion full of servants waiting on her slightest whim, and enough money so that she couldn't spend it even if she tried.
She didn't need to get plastic surgery as she was beautiful, slim and not at all flat, so there.
But as she sat in the cafe with her pile of tasty baked goodies, she moved her slender jean clad legs so that she could look at the envelope she had just recieved. It had come from a lawyer's office, so she was reluctant to open it, as she had enough of people complaining to her that something had been broken in the course of her work. Just like the time that she had to blow up that isolated resort, full of the evil, and rather perverted ghosts. It had simply been neccessary to get rid of anything that they could have infested, and wasn't because she had been mad that none of them had ever considered her worth groping.
However, idle curiousity won out, and she opened it to see what she was being blamed for this time. As far as she could remember, there hadn't been anything recently, so she was pretty sure that any claim of unneccessary destruction would be a fake. That made her feel safe enough, so she read, expecting that at most, she'd just have to shoo away another jerk.
It wasn't that at all.
"WHAT?!" she screeched, regardless of the fact that she was in a cafe full of patrons, most of whom were now looking at her.
Yet no matter how many times she looked it over, it didn't change, and still told her the same thing it had told her before.
She was betrothed to a guy she'd never heard of before.
So she sat there in shock while:
