Nabiki checked her notes, compiled from Ranma's diary and what she had been discussing with Shinji.
Akane's marriage to Ranma. Parents continuing to be idiots and pushing for immediate children. Second Impact. UN new charter. NERV. Gehern. Construction of the Eva units. Angels attacking. Angels defeated. Third Impact.
One disaster after another. (The first and second being a disaster to some more than others, while the rest she thought everyone could agree were just plain disastrous.)
Akane was curled in on herself, sleeping. She had always been more prone to extremes of emotion than Nabiki and that had tired her out faster.
Nabiki tapped her pencil against her teeth, ignoring the penguin and the last two humans still alive. Well, at least one of them was still alive. She wasn't too sure about this 'Asuka' girl. Because she was so unresponsive, apparently Shinji had been unable to get her to eat anything and she had been on tube feeding immediately prior to that.

"I know that already," said Nabiki. She was an individual and she liked her "ego boundary" or whatever you called it just fine where it was. The idea of being "one" with humanity in some big sea of goo might appeal to communist or socialist agendists, since absolute equality had been achieved, but Nabiki was definitely a capitalist and an individualist. Sure there were no barriers to understanding and communication, but even if it didn't drive you mad to acheive that "oneness" - she'd think it would be boring as hell.
Fzzzzt!
"Huh?" Nabiki realized she'd dosed off at some point without realizing it, the dawn was pinking the horizon. What had woken her up?

Lavender lightning briefly played around her form and Akane's.
Nabiki put it together quickly enough. "We're going home!"
That woke Akane up and the others, well, except for Asuka who probably had slipped further into her coma.

The breeze began to pick up, and Nabiki grabbed at one of the hopeful people nearby.
