Shinji's new day: Old School Gaming Is The Best [Episode 97231]

by Jamil Nate

After minutes passed agonizing about what to pick, Shinji had finally settled on buying an old game console and a few games to play with it.

The wizard had even made him a real bargain price for the whole thing, telling him that it was an old game system, completely outmoded by 2015's standards, anyway. Shinji paid him and left as fast as he could, away from the strange and creepy shopkeeper.

As for the wizard, he was happy and decided to go look for some popcorn before the fireworks began.

Transformative magic was his specialty. As soon as Shinji started to play a game, he would be taken inside it, literally! Hopefully, he would re-emerge later as a better person who could prevent the whole red goo thing from happening.

Meanwhile, Shinji Ikari didn't know of the wizard's plans. Since he was still alone in Misato's appartment, he hooked the old console up on the television set, put a game DVD inside the player and waited for the menu to appear.

Unsurprisingly, when he pressed START, he vanished without a trace, startling the nearby Pen-Pen who began to consider stop drinking beer.

On the screen, Shinji Ikari had become part of the game. The images were scrolling at an insane rate, finishing the game in mere minutes where hours should have been necessary.

Ah, but was that game to begin with?
