After all, there were threads of her relationship to Ranma that she wasn't about to explain yet. How do you explain to someone that their father is actually a goddess...actually...Ranma might expect that given his history.
And Bast truly did not know that Set's daughter was... ((AN: The idea of Ranma having a goddess for a "father" comes from Brian Drozd's "Deification" and "The Child of the Goddess" fic on ff.net by someone whose name escapes me for the moment.))
