A Cat's Yarn - Set's Daughter: The Serpent's Daughter (Restart Option Provided) [Episode 9760]

by Thrythlind

When Chugo Kuonji first met his wife to be, she was a young, unmarried woman of indeterminate age doing the best she could for a daughter no more than a year old, performing stage magic to crowds for whatever change she could earn from onlookers.

He didn't know about her past, at least not until her deathbed at which point he received a somewhat garbled version of that past.

Hebeny Kuonji had died in a somewhat predictable manner for someone that had turned away from the God of Snakes: snake bite. An asp, to be precise, that had escaped from a local reptile house.

The doctor involved had declared that either the venom had been exceptionally potent or else she, herself, had some sort of vulnerability. There didn't seem to be any anti-toxin that slowed it down, though they had time to try a number since she lasted for several hours of painful dying. It was probably a little of both, whatever gifts Set had granted her during service were quite a bit more than removed when she left service.

Hebeny had some private time with her husband to at least communicate that her daughter was not altogether human and that someday her true father might come for her.

It should be noted at this point that Ukyou herself was never told this and that this was also not long after the Saotomes took off with his cart.

Chugo responded like any average, human male upon being suddenly faced with something unexpected, unimagined, and difficult to adapt to along with several other emotionally charged situations.

He got rid of the problem, by sending Ukyou on her mission of vengeance.

Set was, of course, now coming to collect his daughter. The elimination of Bast's son would be an added bonus.
