It was an event which struck fear into the hearts of mortals and gods alike. An endless source of woe for some and amusement for many.
Toltiir, in the form of the Cheshire Cat, smiled.
"The Bet is BACK!"
"That is why I requested your assistance," responded his companion, twenty-something appearing man with light purple hair.
"Oh, give a cat a break Zor! I've been bored lately!"
The Father of Robotechnology frowned. "The only reason I asked for your help with this is because I could find no other means to do so. Now could we _please_ hurry along?"
"Ah, poo. Fine! You know the drill, just toss this stone into the well and make your change."
"Thank you."
'And let the chaos commence,' thought the Elder God. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"T-minus thirty minutes to defold in Earthspace, Admirals." announced the tech.
Admiral Rick Hunter sighed. After years of being away from the birthplace of humanity they were finally returning. Sure it was to fight the Invid, but it would be nice to see good old Terra again after so long.
He grabbed his wife Lisa's hand in reassurance for the battle that awaited the SDF-3 'Pioneer' and its escort fleet once it rematerialized.
It was at that point that the ripple caused by Zor's thrown stone manifested itself in the form of a hyperspace shockwave, and the already warped state of hyperspace during a fold operation was further destabilized.
The bridge shook with a tremendous force, and threw more than a few people onto the floor shipwide.
"What was that?!" queried Admiral Lisa Hayes-Hunter.
"I don't know ma'am. Some form of turbulence. Huh?! We're defolding?"
"What? I thought you said there were thirty minutes left?!"
Sure enough. The resolidifying of everyone's vision confirmed that they were exiting the fold.
"I can't explain it sir, but we've likely been thrown of course. Wait a moment while I reconfirm our bearings."
