Akane yapped and wagged her tail. She was a good girl.
Ranma noticed his other pets (notably Ukyo-bunny, Nabiki-c-c-c-cat, and Shampoo-skunk) all watching the short stumpy guys and the really thin guys going in and out of a ?! staircase in the backyard.
"Don't be harsh,
& Don't be cruel,
The Mermaids gotta
have a pool.
Put the heat
and lighting in,
cause we ain't
bar-bar-ians.
Dwarves have got a job to do,
Buildwell Works Construction Crew."
Ranma blinked for a moment as he saw loads of brick, bags of mortar, what looked like telephone poles, and other odds and ends vanishing into the narrow stairwell.
"Ranma-thama?!"
That gentle voice didn't immediately click as familiar, so Ranma turned and it wasn't until he saw the face that he realized this was the new Kodachi.
Kodachi was a snakegirl, looking mainly the same from the waist up and from the waist down was a snake.
"Well, ath leatht I hath handth," said Kodachi, who then vowed she'd learn how to speak intelligibly without this darn hissing.
The leopard girl, Mineko, sniffed at Ranma and made an uncertain sound in her throat.
