Sidhe Meddling-Pewter: Honor And Drow? [Episode 98629]

by Kender

"Yes. Somehow or other, Pewter has run across a drow elf paladin," the owl said dully.

The eagle looked down its beak at the other. "Just how is that possible?"

"There's no way to be certain without talking directly with her. She simply may have just wanted to go as far opposite from what she knew as possible. Then again, she could have found some sort of magical device. Or she could have witness some sort of miracle of a diety and gone that way."

"That's... different."

"At least it gives us some sort of explination."

"About what?" the eagle asked.

"'About' why she's so clumsy. A possible alignment change, combined with inexperience with what she's dealing with, and her being a youth among her race means that she is going to take a while to recover to even match the level she was at back among her kind."

"That sounds sort of reasonable..."

"And it could be a lot of hot air," the owl admitted, "For all I know, she might have a curse put on her as a last minute attempt at spite by one of the spider lovers."

That just left the eagle hanging its head.

Pewter was very interested in everything his new friend had to show him. After all, the only place he could remember were the islands and his experience with life was only what they held. He didn't know much about the world outside of it and this was his chance to learn about it as well as enjoy her company.

Sinda was just happy that the dragon was happy and that he didn't seem ready to use her for the things that she had heard other dragons had been used for. For the moment, he was calm and interested, which was good for her because even if he was good, annoyed or angry dragons were not something to be on the bad side of. She had little wish to be squished or worse, and her nervousness was contributing to her clumsiness. But in no way was she going to admit to such a being that she wasn't completely sure on all she was doing, especially as she had been so proud about what she had learned.

Luckily though, he seemed kind enough, and he had managed to get her a good supply of meat.

"You're nice," Pewter commented as he looked from the meat that was cooking to his new friend.

The drow looked up at him from where she had been attending to her injured fingers. "I am?"

"Uh-huh. You've been showing me so much neat stuff, and cooking the food..."

"Hmph... Well, you did bring it. It'd be wrong not to share your catch after all."

"Yeah, but I still like you."

"Err... thanks," she murmured as she tried to figure out how to deal with such a compliment.

"Are there more like you?"

"Probably, but probably not among my kind."

"Huh?"

She gave a big sigh. "You don't know about drow?"

"Not really..."

"The only thing you need to know is that most of them aren't nice at all. They're mean and viscious and even I don't like the way they do things, and I grew up with them."

"Oh..," the dragon said reverently as he gave her a look that seemed to tell her that he was enthralled with her words.

"Just... Don't trust them unless you know that they wouldn't have a reason to lie to you. Which pretty much means don't believe what they tell you for the most part."

"Okay!"

As she realised that he was taking her as the voice of experience, she tried not to wonder about the concept while:
