"Nyowww?" Hotaru asked with a yawn, revealing sharp little teeth.
"A demon?!" Yahiko asked, drawing his rattan sword.
Hotaru responded by pulling at one eyelid and sticking her tongue out. "Biiiii DAH!"
"A very sociable demon if that is the case," said a tall guy with a tough rogue sort of look to him from where he was leaning against the doorsill.
"Whoaaaa, how'd you fix the place up? It was a wreck last night," said Ranma, noticing all the changes.
Eventually a crowd gathered. Well, actually, the crowd gathered really quickly. The little boy learned that tugging on Hotaru's tail was NOT a very good idea and she might be a four year old girl but she had real claws.
"Ouch," said Yahiko.
"Don't pull on her tail," advised Ranma.
"Now he tells me," complained Yahiko. "HEY that hurts!"
A long haired woman continued dabbing at the scratches.
Ranma watched and listened mainly. So did Hotaru. These people had a banter going like old friends though as Ranma was only six, Hotaru only four - they weren't sure if some of these were friends or not. Seemed to be some kinda hostility between some of them.
KAORU was the loud girl. The guy with the rooster hair was SAGARA. The little kid (though older than Ranma) was YAHIKO. The gal with the long hair was MEGUMI. Ranma got the feeling that Kaoru didn't like Megumi too much, and there was some friction between Sagara and Yahiko as well as between Yahiko and Kaoru.
"Come on, we better go find Pop," said Ranma, motioning to Hotaru as the four others began to argue about what to do about the girl-cat and the little boy.
