On the other hand, Tarja had gone quite the opposite way. Instead of striking from the shadows, she prefered to attack head on, fighting as 'a true warrior should'. Being a drow and a samurai somehow managed to work for her, as she managed to find ways to justify it. She saw the grace and skill that such a fighter possessed, and enjoyed the ability to stand up and be known for something. The strength and bravery of it called to her, and considered it the best thing that it could be. That it was not what would be considered as a lifepath by those back in the caverns ruled by the spider lovers.
Both girls had been in need of something to identify with, as they had little of their own identity. What they knew of their people mainly came from stories told by their elders, who naturally had a slant just because they had been driven from their homeland. They had fallen into the path of an ambitious clan, and had been attacked for not being mean and viscious like their neighbors. But since they had not agreed with all the stuff being put out, that had left them with little in the way of past to rely on.
And then Ranma had come along with his tales of the samurai and ninja of his homeland. Not all of it was totally historically accurate, as he wasn't a history buff and a lot of what he had to rely on was legend and rumor, but that was enough for them. They had found something that had given them an identity, and they were going to hold fast to it. Of course, it didn't hurt that they actually liked these new roles.

The two of them looked upon him with utmost respect and dignity. For them, he was the one who had given them guidance when they most needed it, and they would never allow him to forget that. They kept on treating him as a 'Lord', and both would do just about anything he asked, as they trusted him implicitly. Tarja would even be living with him as his personal bodyguard if she could.
And getting them together could be a trip. They would 'Lord' him to death, and rush to complete whatever tasks that they believed that their role would say they should. Watching television was another problem, as they had a tendency to disagree on what to watch until he showed them that they could watch something that showed both samurai and ninja. Which was on top of the fact that they both considered him to be the person to instruct them on what they should do, especially if they had a problem.
At least he had gotten Tarja to realise that she could go out to make something of herself, and perhaps even help those who had been like her.
Scanning his lab, he smiled as he considered that despite the problems he'd had with them, they were still good people who knew enough to not get themselves into too much trouble. He'd already had enough of that with a young lady of noble stock who'd decided to become an adventurer because of the bard's tales she'd heard. Trying to pull a girl, who considered it an offense if she didn't get perfumed water for her bath, out of a mud pit full of bugs was amusing for a while, but when it was one in a comedy of errors, it got tiring after a while.
That was in the past though, and at the moment, he was clean, dry and not listening to whining. He had time to do what he wanted, and at the moment, that happened to be:
