Sinda gave him an admonishing look. "Tyr isn't just some 'guy'. He's the god of Justice! That means to do right and make sure that things go fairly and evenly, without prejudice."
"And you like that?"
"Of course I do. Back where I come from, there isn't any Justice to be found. They cheat and lie all the time, and the innocent are the ones who get punished. I really don't want to be like that. All my life I've wanted to do something better, and this is my chance. This way I can serve Justice and help those who need it!"
"That's great! I'm happy that you want to do something that nice."
"'Nice'?"
The silver head bobbed up and down. "You're a good person, and doing this will help a lot of people. So, it's nice of you to dedicate yourself to that."
"Thanks..."
"No problem! I'm just glad to help, especially for something that seems to be so important."
It wasn't a drow thing to show emotion like this, but she couldn't help herself as she patted his head. "Thank you so much..."
"You're welcome."
"Okay, a drow paladin is one thing," an eagle asked idly, "But a drow paladin for Tyr?"
The owl next to it gave a diffident shrug. "Well, you have to realise one thing."
"What?"
"It was Pewter who found her."
"True..," the eagle admitted.
Out and around the lands, several people sensitive to such things straightened up and wondered why they were getting chills down their back.
But, having no sign of what it was, they went back to their planning and scheming.
The more intelligent of them did realise that keeping a wary eye out would be a good idea.
"Ummm...," Pewter murmured as he looked over his friend as she practiced with her sword. "What do you do now? I mean, what does following Tyr mean you have to do?"
"Well..," Sinda began, and then hung her head.
"What?"
"I don't know all of it. I'm only beginning after all. But I know something that does have at least some of the answers."
"You do?"
"Yes, my books!"
