Here he was, prepared for a fight with the Invid, against overwhelming odds, only to fight against an unknown enemy, over a planet Earth that wasn't the Earth he remembered. Truth be told, this Earth was more beautiful from orbit that his Earth.
He had listened to the various radio-channels in the last hour and talked a bit to the two EarthForce pilots, before stopping on a music channel, still listening to tac-net. The music was something else that the music he was used to.
"I'm so happy because today

Listening to the strange music he wondered what the Admirals would do. Try to find a way back to their own Earth? Back to an enemy that was overwhelming everything? Or would they stay here, in an unknown world, where they had a chance to really win against an enemy? True the REF had fought and won against the Invid before, but he remembered that the RDF had destroyed Dolza's flagship, but only with the help of the defected Zentraedi, one of them his mother.
Slowly he and the two Starfuries, moved through a derbis field. He winced and closed his eyes as the body of a dead human, nearly slammed into the capony of his Veritech. Over tac.net he heared a low sobbing and guessed that it was Rafalle three.
"This is SDF-3," the voice of Admiral Hunter came over tac-net," As EarthForce had informed us, they don't have the capacity to dock the remaining two thousand Starfuries, so we will help them out. To all Starfuties, please follow the next REF-fighter to our ships."
There was a short pause, before Brown heard von Richthoven.
"Just two thousand Starfuries left, from twenty thousand... I wonder how many capital ships survived..."
