For the million years the structure floats in hyperspace it had been inactive, just a small sensory suit kept active by the ones that hid it. Now this sensory suit received input, a minor shockwave moving through hyperspace with many times the speed of light. This shockwave had been created by an event that had never happened in the universe for a million years. A hyperspace-fold, telling the computer behind the sensors that something had arrived. Something that would change the universe.
Deep within the structure a being was slowly awakened. It would prepare the structure to return to normal space and the return of its gods. But it would need years to complete its task.
----------------------------------
Two beings in strange survival suits stood next to each other, looking at a holographic video stream that just arrived through their tachyon communication network. The irises in the heads of the suit opened in shock as they watched the unfolding battle between the EarthAlliance and the Minbari after the arrival of the SDF-3 and it's eleven escort vessels.
The irises opened even more as the powerful beam of the twin Reflex-cannons slammed into a group of maybe three douzen Sharlin War-Cruisers reducing them to a cloud of plasma and derbis.
"They are using the weapons of the ancient enemy," one of the beings said.
The other being nodded.
"But they are not of the enemy, nor of the Shadows," it answered.
"They don't belong here. They will upset the circles."
"And yet they are part of the circle."
With that the hologram faded away, showing the face of Admiral Rick Hunter.
"May we live in interesting times."
