Setsuna's Fault/Hotaru's Sensei: Moon Order [Episode 99187]

by Kender

Pluto knew that she had to do something, and fast. The future of humanity was tied to Crystal Tokyo, a place of impressive beauty and strength. It was a pure place where magic held sway, and the populace lived in peace and prosperity. Everything that was set up so that the place could be a utopia, and she had worked hard to get everything in alignment so that the situation would be perfect.

And without even trying, this boy had thrown it all into a mess. At first he was supposed to be stuck in a chaotic series of events which would have kept him far away from the Senshi. Then he was supposed to be dead, which would have been kept him from anyone permanently. But he was instead becoming a 'big brother' or 'mentor' figure for Saturn and was building machines that would change the fights that were to come.

She knew that she had to do something, and she knew that it had to be done. Perhaps pushing him back into the 'original' life, or if she had to, killing him outright herself. It would be a distasteful task, but she knew that for the sanctity of the future, she had to do whatever it took.

So she waited while everyone's attention was on the design plans before slipping away with little fanfare...

Only to stop as Sailor Moon called out, "Pluto?"

Turning around slowly, the Senshi of Time looked at the odango haired blonde. "Yes?"

"Where are you going?"

"I have some business to attend to..."

"What could..?" Moon's brow furrowed. "You're not going to hurt Ranma, are you?"

"I..."

"I don't think so. I don't want you killing him. Absolutely, completely not!"

That brought a wince from Pluto, not because of the girl's protestations, but due to the fact that this was a girl who was willing to save her enemies, and help those who would hurt her. She had always felt it neccessary to protect the blonde due because of that. It had never come down to something as direct as this before however, and she was left trying to work something out. "There will be paradoxes..."

"Listen to me carefully. I, as your Princess, forbid you to kill Ranma Saotome, understand?"

"Yes..," she whispered, though it galled her to do so.

"Good," Moon commented in a mixture of caring teenaged girl and confident princess.

"Besides," Mercury mused, "Wouldn't going back and changing the past create a paradox of its own? I mean, if you made it so that we were never here, how would you know that we were here in a situation that made it so that we wouldn't be here?"

"How's that work?" Venus asked, her face screwing up in confusion.

"It doesn't. That's why it's a 'pardox'."

"Oh..."

Resisting the urge to slap her hand over face, Pluto knew that she didn't feel like trying to explain how she dealt with such things. But she knew that things were not going how she would like them, and that her options were drying up fast. That meant that she had to figure out what she could do before things got too out of hand.

But as she considered the problem,:
