'Damn. Why are that many guards in such a small village? It's like they are expecting an attack...' Ranma pondered about this for a moment, but put that thought aside when he saw that one of the female warriors started talking with another guard.
Not looking at a gift horse in the mouth, he started crawling towards the biggest and more protected house. When he managed to get under the window of the building, he crouched again and dusted his clothes a bit to regain their original black color.
After looking at the sides to check if he still had enough time before anyone could see him, he stood up a bit and peered into the open window. It was dark inside, but he managed to glimpse what seemed to be a primitive kitchen.
'Bring some useless item? Heck, I don't think they even use money. Everything there is worthless. Oh, well better for me.'
He jumped through the window, and landed at the middle of the room without making any sound at the wooden floor. Then, he went towards the nearby closet and searched for a proper 'gift' for his father.
'What should I get? The spices should add a nice touch for our meals... Nah, perhaps they are too expensive for a village like this to get. Better leave'em alone. What about the big ass pots? Should be big enough for our appetites... if I can fit them through the-'
Ranma's chain of thoughts were interrupted when he felt something hard against his back.
"/I don't know who are you, stranger, but I suggest that you surrender quietly. We don't need to wake the whole village for this, don't we?/" Ranma heard behind him.
In a snap movement, Ranma put a foot at the closet and somersaulted backwards over his surprised opponent.
