There was a small dojo, a shrine, and a large bath area that he figured had been added in the Taisho Roman era. To get any single part or area working would require anything from minor cleaning to major work - some had clearly not been kept up, and it looked as if the previous management had given up about 1/4 of the way through the job.
The first thing to do was put together a "Rooms For Rent" sign. He needed cashflow.
Mahoro set to work, knowing her duties, and had found a maid uniform that she quickly cleaned and made her own.
"Hello?"
Ranma stuck his head out of a window and spat the nails in his mouth out. "Be right down!"
The girl at the gates sniffed at a delicate fragrance coming from the kitchen area.
"Hi, I'm Ranma, I'm the landlord," said Ranma as he raced down the stairs.
The girl smiled cutely. "Hello, Ranma. What kind of rates are you charging?"
Ranma thought back to his trip to the grocery store and hardware stores. Mahoro had come up with the idea of seeing what similar places charged and then undercharging that - because the place needed so much fixing up. Ranma made an offer.
"That's fine," said the girl, sniffing again. "Food is included, right?"
Ranma nodded rapidly. Communal meals weren't exactly common but also not unheard of. He REALLY needed some income to deal with all the "outgo" taking place.
"I'd like to see the room," said the girl, "but otherwise it sounds fine. My name is:"
