A Ranma in Aramar: Meeting Monk [Episode 102004]

"My turn," said the ardrow, taking a deep breath and closing her eyes. "My name is Saithe. I am a Monk."

"Oh? That sounds nice enough," Ranma commented in an attempt to be friendly.

"I'm glad you think so. I've been training my fighting skills to their upmost, and I'm pretty proud of them."

The pigtailed human had been running through two possibilities as he tried to figure out what a 'monk' would mean in this world, and dropped the one that had the guys in robes chanting. But the other ones seemed more possible, and that made sense at the moment. "So ya train ta fight in isolated places, and meditate a lot?"

"That's pretty much it. I haven't gotten along with a lot of folk, and so I thought this would be a perfect path for me since I've always been good in this direction."

"Ya spend the time in one of those temples?"

"Huh?" Saithe said in confusion.

"Well, back where I come from, there's a group of monks who stick together and do nothin' but train, meditate and teach."

"An academy of monks..," Jaim murmured.

"Hate to pull you away from that talk, but we do have a stavanzer to deal with," the fire elf reminded them.

"True enough. but it will stay in its lair until it's ready to attack."

"Good thing too, as our monk friend here will only be helpful when we get down there."

"That can't be helped though," the wizardess admitted. "Perhaps we can take this time to find out who the rest of our group is, and what skills they have. Which means that the next person will have to introduce herself."
