Ranma's Inn: Three's Company [Episode 102034]

by Kestral

It was natural of Mihoshi to use elements she was familiar with. In this particular universe, there had been crossover/fusion elements that would never have touched Ranma's life prior to his involvement with Mihoshi's lamp.

Afterwards it was inevitable.

Based on Mihoshi's understanding of Tenchi's life, a "normal" life featured several elements that were bizarre at the very least. She was also good intentioned enough that Ranma living a lonely life without excitement and adventure hadn't been actively considered.

Naturally, certain elements patterned after Tenchi's life were necessary. It didn't help that Mihoshi had dipped into Tenchi's father's manga collection and seen the pattern.

One - the outlaw or rogue character. Ryoko the space pirate was also an artificial being and a superpowered individual and an alien. Ryoko was the free spirit, to some extent, of the group. The rule breaker. The wild girl. In "Love Hina" Mihoshi had seen the character Mitsune Konno as fitting the role.

Two - there would have to be a princess involved. Either a real royal princess or just someone who acted the part. Aeka was a princess of the planet Jurai. Her rivalry with Ryoko was obvious enough for Mihoshi to clue in to it, though not necessarily all the ramifications and elements thereof. In "Love Hina" there had Kaolla Su, again driving home the need for a "foreign princess" to get involved.

Three - the beautiful and tough warrior/cop. Mihoshi felt she fit this role pretty darn well, though this would have been disputed by everyone else who merely felt she fit the "ditz" role instead. In "Love Hina" had been Motoko. Deedlit, Detective First Class, was going to get involved sooner or later.

Four - Mad Scientist. Washu fit the role in the life Mihoshi had known, Kaolla in "Love Hina" was both mad scientist and princess.

Five - Underage Ingenue. Sasami might have been a princess, but she was the nice and kind and helpful young girl. In "Love Hina" Shinobu fit that role. It was required of Ranma's new genre - as Mihoshi understood it.

Mahoro fit the role of artificial life form, experienced in at least three manga that Mihoshi had read.

In this universe was the Star Elven Empire, elves had been around for a long time and had many concepts in common with the Juraian Empire that Mihoshi was familiar with. Elements that were in place already could be used as the wish manipulated things.

Enter Pirotess, dark elf and outlaw. Not as powerful as Ryoko by a long shot, her alien powers/magic were not something to brush off. Having just looted the Bank Of Aelvenstar and needing a place to lay low for awhile, she'd chosen this out of the way world in an unfashionable edge of an outer spiral arm. On that world a large island had provided a perfect hideaway in this primitive city - Ranma's Inn. It was a bit beat up, but under new management and the smells indicated the food was likely good. Always an important consideration.

The tricky part had been the lack of documentation and local currency. Easily fixed by materials onboard her ship. Once that was done, hiding her ship was simple. The large amount of ocean made a perfect hiding spot, and from there a short trip inland to her new home for her stay. Here she could kick back and relax while the cops ran in circles checking out the places she might have been.

Mahoro simply fixed dinner, and as the dining area still needed fixing up, meals were taken to rooms to be enjoyed. Pirotess sighed happily as she discovered that the food was exactly as good as she had hoped, and compatible with her species. She could remember times when she'd eaten food that had turned out to be slightly off with regards to its chemical structure and the rather unpleasant effects of that sort of thing on one's digestive system.
