Still, it needed to keep the tyrant from acting on his presence. So long as the boy was not a threat, the tyrant would not act. That meant making sure that he was so safe and comfortable that he wouldn't be getting into too much trouble. As such, keeping him in the dark about the truth of the world he was on would be a good idea.
And the idea of how came from the human's own mind. The nurturer could tell that he really wanted to go home. It couldn't do that, but it could recreate it as closely as could be wished. However, the boy seemed reluctant to have things be as they were, especially regarding how he had departed his previous life. He just wanted to return to the familiar, but didn't have to go back to exactly the same situation he was in before.
Which gave the nurturer plenty of ideas to work with.
Waking up on a futon was a reassuring thing for Ranma. Since he'd spent so much of his time camping out, he'd gotten more used to sleeping that way than in a bed. It was familiar, and something that he could hold onto.
Yet, he found himself surprised that he was there, as something seemed off about it. Rubbing his face with one hand, he thought about it, and slowly remembered just what it was that was causing him concern.
'Akane wished me away, didn't she?' he thought to himself, 'Then what am I doin' here? Was it just a dream..?'
Sighing to himself, he rolled off his futon and got up to head for the door. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, but he didn't know why.
