For the most part, goblins were not intelligent, and didn't do 'the smart thing'.
So with a wild cry, they charged forth, ready to overwhelm their victims by sheer numbers. The 'plan', such as it was, was to head in, take the people there by surprise, and steal whatever they could. Then they would leave, and have the booty they had so sought.
Except Gorkk hadn't counted on one thing.
While these folks were odd, they could fight back. Almost as soon as they came yelling into the clearing, they found themselves under attack from a sorceress throwing fireballs. She was joined by a girl who was bashing them left and right, and a swordsman who proved that the clueless look on his face belied his skill with his weapon of choice. There was even a girl with pointed ears who managed to do a good showing.
And as Ahomon peered over a bush, he saw a group of his comrades going after someone who had been kneeling only moments earlier. Once he got a look at the person, and saw her barely avoid some weapons strike, he decided that next time he would make his future comrades really listen to his signs and portents.
Which was when he discovered that he was more right than he thought.
Having followed the strange scent back, Pewter had watched as a group of invaders attacked the encampment. Those there were giving a good showing, so he knew that they could handle the assault. He still wanted to help out though, and wrestled with that wish.
But then he saw his friend cry out due to the stab of a lucky goblin blade, and he simply reacted to that.
As a result, Gorkk found himself face to snout with a very deeply snarling silver dragon as he turned to see what the shaking of the air was. Feeling his heavy skin being blown back, his mind froze as he tried to figure out how he could deal with such a massive creature. "Not good..."
In response, the dragon bellowed out his anger.
"Very not good!" the party chief declared and tired to run.
Pewter helped him along by sending the goblin airborne with a swipe. And then he went after the rest of the raiding party.
