"Amelia. If you sing that one more time, I will throw you bodily into the very stream that we are sailing and we will find out if kenders float or sink."
"Yeesh. Are all mithra as stick-in-the-mud as you?"
"Listening to someone with no musical talent singing a song for which she knows less than half the words over and over again tends to fray my sense of good humor," said the mithra thief, her ears flat against her skull.
"Hmph," said Amelia, looking quite annoyed. "Sounds like someone got up on the wrong side of the cushion today."
Sinda ignored both the thief and the cleric for now. Her attention was on the sorceress and the swordsman. "What are you two doing?"
"Fishing," said Lena. "If we're going to try and raft trip, we might as well get something to eat on the way."
"I'm just glad we found those logs all laid out, if this forest is really haunted I wouldn't want to try cutting anything down," said the swordsman.
"Fishing?" Sinda asked, looking at the waters flowing by. "I've heard of it being done, though I've never done it personally."
"Yeah, and what kind of fish would you get down in some cave?" asked Lena. "Come to think of it, what did you eat before coming to the surface?"
"Bread, mushrooms, rothe meat, cheeses made from rothe milk, simple fare. Mine was not one of the wealthy or terribly influential families - everything we made as profit ended up being shifted back into our business just to keep going." Sinda shrugged. "Most of it would likely be bland to your reckoning."
"Yeah, well, if I... got one!" Lena began tugging at her pole.
Sinda frowned, her head jerking up. There was something...
"Would you look at that," said a sparrow.
A robin nodded and spoke in a grumbly voice at odds with size and appearance. "I had no idea that so close to our gate there was:"
