How the hell am I supposed to tell my parents that we need to move out? She thought to herself. It's not like I can just walk up and tell them 'Mom, Dad, guess what? I found out I'm adopted, and my real parents are two of the most kick-ass demons in the world, and I'm their only heir. Unfortunately my father's really evil, and probably wants to use me to take over the demon world from my mother, and is probably going to try and use you to get to me, so we've got to go hide at Rei's temple, which is protected by a lot of magical things, including a bunch of fire spirits. Oh? Did I forget to mention that Rei and all my other friends are demons and other kinds of supernatural beings. By the way, I'm also the reincarnated princess of the moon, and not only that, I have been running around as Sailor Moon for the past few years, but I'm also going to be ruling the world over a thousand years from now.' Usagi rolled her eyes. Yeah, like that's going to work.
Usagi opened the door, and walked in to find her parents sitting in the living room.
Uhoh, this doesn't look good.
"USAGI TSUINKO WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN YOUNG LADY?" Usagi's mother roared, as only a mother filled with rightious fury can. Usagi's father simply stood there and frowned in disappointment.
"There was an accident over at the Aino's." Usagi explained. "They're fine, but they're going to be staying with Makoto for a while." Millenia had explained what had happened when Minako's powers had awakened, so it was a workable cover story, something Usagi had spent the last few years perfecting.
"Usagi," Ikuko began, somewhat mollified. "While it's nice of you to be there for your friend, you really should have called. Your father and I have been worried sick. We were just about to call Rei's place."
Usagi sighed. It's now or never.
"Mom, Dad, can you sit down, I've got something important to talk to you two about." Usagi quickly followed her own request, and sat down, motioning for her parents to take the chairs opposite.
"What is it, Sweetheart?" Her father asked, concerned. Usagi was usually such a carefree, energetic young woman, that hearing her talk like that started to send off warning bells in her parents heads.
"I wanted to tell you... " Usagi trailed off for a moment, but plundged back in. "I wanted to tell you I found out that I'm adopted."
The two parents suddenly paled, and after a few moments, Ikkuko was able to gather enough coherence to ask."
"How?"
"That's not important." Usagi said "What is important is that my birth father never knew I existed, and now that he's probably found out I do, he's going to want me."
Kenji shook his head.
"Don't worry, he can't take you away." He told her.
Usagi shook her head.
"My birth father is a very evil, and a very powerful ... person." She told him "He'll do anything he can to get what he wants, and he doesn't care who gets hurt in the process."
"Usagi, we'll call the police, they can... " Ikkuko tried to placate her daughter, only to be countered with a furious denial.
"NO!" Usagi exclaimed. "That won't work! Dimitri Maximoff is not someone that the police can deal with! He's not a criminal, he's not even human!
"And neither am I."
"Usagi..." Kenji tried to break in, but was blocked by Usagi's stern voice.
"I'm serious Dad." She said, and allowed her wings, both the ones on her back, and on her head, to show.
Usagi's parents both gasped in shock.
"My birth parents were both nobles of the demon world. My birth mother is in fact the rightful queen of that world, and I am her rightful heir." Usagi explained "My father is an enemy who tricked her, and used her, before he was banished. He is a monster even among demons, and he believes I will be the key to his mastery over the demon world."
