Webs: Fade In [Episode 107978]

by Thrythlind

After setting down the copter crew, the spiders turned to look at the crowd.

"I need to get back into the crowd," Kodachi said. "And you need to get your camera from whereever you set it and do likewise."

"I can just imagine what Jameson will do with this fiasco," Peter said, swinging away to get his camera.

Kodachi quickly swung into the heights as well, vanishing quickly from sight and recovering her mundane clothes from where she had left them. When she reappeared on the street she was dishelveled and at least partially disgruntled in appearance.

She glanced around at all the reporters hurriedly taking photos or running broadcasts from the site of the battle and frowned. She wasn't unhappy because of the reporter's attitudes, but only because of what her act would require her to do next.

"This is the most outrageous of insults!" she railed without anyone paying attention to her. "I demand that you turn those cameras back on me this instant! This is MY press conference!"

"One day showing me around does not..." she grimaced as she turned about and reflexively grabbed her shoulder.

"Come on, you're hurt," Eddie said firmly. "Let's get out of here and get you home...or would you prefer a hospital."

"Eddie Brock," Ben Urich said glancing over Peter's shoulder. Ben was one of the reporters on the Bugle. "I feel sorry for her."

"Why?" Peter asked. "He looks friendly."

"Yeah, he does," Ben said. "He's one of the worst of the Globe's reporters. I'd say Miss Kuno will be looking at a few weeks of good press followed by some major, and damaging, expose, as soon as they can find something about her. The Globe is bad news."

Peter felt a slight tingle, not from Kodachi, but a warning of some danger, but it passed quickly.

He didn't turn around fast enough to see a bundled up girl, smiling conspiratorily, disappear into the crowd behind him.

"Where were you Peter?" Ben asked. "I haven't seen the entire press conference."

"I was in one of that building," Peter said pointing. "I got here and saw the Goblin coming, so I went somewhere high to get pictures." His voice was distracted, however, as he thought of what Ben had said about Eddie Brock and that flash of danger he'd felt...
