She snapped up and looked to the source of the heat to find Eddie Brock on the bed next to her. She looked down at her naked form and memories of the night previous came flooding in.
"My lord," she thought, shocked. "What was I thinking."
But she knew without having to ask. She hadn't been thinking, she'd been lonely, needy...and the adrenaline had still been running through her veins. She couldn't really blame anyone but herself, she had invited Eddie in and led him on. It was her responsibility.
She sighed and slipped out of bed without waking her guest up.
She reached for a dressing gown and started for the bathroom to shower. Soon Eddie would wake up and then they'd have to talk.
She was belting the gown closed when the device on her desk caught her eye. It was a digital camera, set next to a man's wallet. She paused, overwhelmed by curiousity, and reached for the wallet to open it, and find Eddie Brock's press pass.
A chill worked over Kodachi's body as she turned to the camera to switch it on and look to see what was on it. She first noted that it was set on automatic and that the flash was off. Instead, it had some sort of light-enhancing lens attached so that it could take pictures in the dark without a flash to alert people.
To her dread, Kodachi flipped to the camera's memory and found what she feared. Picture after picture of herself and Brock, his face conveniently obscured, in the throws of passion.
The resultant scream of rage woke Brock up to find Kodachi glaring at him, just barely containing rage.
"You! Out!" Kodachi snapped angrily. "Take your camera with you!"
She flung the camera at Brock, and he dodged just in time to avoid the thing connecting with his head. Instead it shattered into its component pieces when it struck, and dented, the wall.
"What?!" Brock demanded.
"What?" she asked. "What? You finagle yourself into my home and MY BED! Just to get some pictures to sell your paper? Get out of my sight! If I ever see you again, I will tear the flesh from your bones and boil until not is left that ever seemed living. Get out!"
Brock quickly stood up, confusion and anger building up in his own mind as he gathered his things and moved out of the sight of the angry woman, well aware of just what she could do to him. Kodachi held still, however, reining herself in and merely grinding her teeth in rage as the reporter left her room and then, by the sound of a closing door, her house.
Then, she collapsed, her anger fading away to be replaced with shame as she sat on her floor and buried her face in her hands. Short sobs racked her form as she tried to regain control of herself.
Outside, an observer watched the scene through a pair of binoculars from her perch in a tree.
"That's what you get for trusting these gaijin, sister," the Black Rose whispered. "You never even checked for a second camera in his things. How very unlike me. Then again, I would have never allowed the situation to take place at all. Now, for the next phase."
