"Dr. Tofu wouldn't have sent me on a wild goose chase," Kodachi said to herself as she took a leap into some trees and started crawling through the foliage toward the mansion. The tingling of her senses helping her to avoid detection by the children or the security systems.
There were children playing on the grounds, like any other school, only with a slight difference that caught Kodachi's eye quickly enough.
The children were playing in ways that no normal children could manage.
"Gifted indeed," Kodachi whispered as she watched a child playing basketball pass to himself by teleporting from one spot to another.
"Hey, no powers!" another boy complained loudly among the general hue and cry of the Thanksgiving Day revelry.
Kodachi quietly continued along the her hidden path and leaped from the trees to the wall and quickly scurried onto the roof from there. Keeping low she crossed along the edge of the roof, looking down for an open window.
It was a moment before she found one large enough for her to enter, she looked about and saw no children playing near this side and climbed carefully downward. She was about to peek into the window when a tingling warned her not to just in time to avoid showing herself for the boy that came flying, on his own power, out of the window into the air.
Kodachi was in the building before the boy could turn around and see what it was he'd seen out of the corner of his eye. Fortunately for her, he shrugged it off as nothing and floated downward to the ground, a book in hand.
A quick duck into a side room, and Spider-Rose disappeared to replaced by Kodachi Kuno. She was wearing one of her old Catholic school outfits and wondering about with something of a lost look on her face, only half-feigned.
Kodachi heard footsteps walking toward her around the corner and geared herself to be ready for the coming meeting. She found herself faced with a pair of younger teenages, a boy with short curly hair and a girl with a streak of white and covered in from head to toe in as much cloth as she could apparently lay hold of.
"Excuse me," Kodachi said. "Where's Professor Xavier?"
"Umm, are you new here?" the boy asked in a bit of confusion.
"I don't really know yet," Kodachi said. "I need to speak to the Professor first."
"How did you get in here?" the girl asked, stepping possessively in front of the boy, one hand straying to finger the other's glove.
"Through the door," Kodachi said. "But I've gotten a bit lost."
"Miss Kuno," a voice called out behind the two teenagers. "Come with me please." There was no option allowed for in the very unamused voice.
Kodachi looked back to see a tall man wearing a sort of visor around his face. She had to wonder how they discovered she was there. Or her name for that matter.
"Hmm," Kodachi said. "I think I've been saved." She bowed to the two younger kids and smiled with a sense of optimism that she wasn't quite certain that she felt. "Thank you for your assitance regardless."
She walked across to the man easily enough, and the two teenagers shrugged, deciding that she was nothing more than a lost new student.
