Tokyo Archmage-SM: golden apprentice [Episode 109529]

by Kestral

"Minako a mage?" repeated her mother.

"I gave her a test that shows she has the correct aptitude," said Ranma. "The scroll she's looking at right now will give me a better idea of her talent in that direction."

"It's not dangerous, is it?" asked her father.

"No, it's what they call a cantrip. A zero level spell," explained Ranma. On seeing blank looks, he simplified further. "Very low power. It's just a spell that allows one to create a magical light."

Light began to shine between Minako's outstretched hands, causing her to eep and lose the spell.

"She's gotta learn better focus," said Ranma.

The two parents were impressed. Their daughter had the potential to learn a highly specialized and in demand profession?

"What does this apprenticeship require?" asked Mrs Aino.

"She'd be staying at my tower for a year, she can bunk with my housekeeper Tajra. Room and board are provided. In the meantime she'll attend school but also spend several hours a day learning the basics of wizardry." Ranma looked over at where Minako was trying to recreate the spell and, of course, failing. "After that year she can return home or continue to study with me."

"That was fast," said Ranma, five minutes later.

Minako gritted her teeth and tried to move the luggage she'd found thrust upon her.

Ranma merely shook his head, wondering why he felt as if this was going to be a problem. "Telekinetic Sphere."

Minako saw the luggage lifting up of its own accord and imagined all the things she could do with such a spell.
