And those tales had on occassion held magic users. Good wizards, foul sorcerers, and scheming witches were all there. Sometimes they were to be rooted for, and others booed, but they were there. But they always had some sort of special place, which would be impressive and reflect their personality, whether strong and upright, or shadowed and dark.
What she never expected when she was was reading those stories was to actually be standing in front of one such wizard's residence, with a young man who would have well fit her favorite bedtime reading selection.
"You live here?" she asked weakly.
Ranma nodded. "It is my home. Is there something wrong with it?"
"No..."
"You sure?"
"Yeah... It's nothing, really..," she said weakly as she knew that she would have to get used to going through magic portals to get to a stone tower and not knowing how.
"Well, come on in. I'll introduce you."
"What? To your house?"
"No," he corrected as he opened the door and guided her inside. "To my housekeeper. Tajra!"
"You called Sir?" asked a girl as she stepped out of the shadows and stood before him, causing the blonde to nearly jump into his arms. She merely settled with clinging to him.
"Yes, I did. This is Minako and she's my new apprentice."
"She is? Then she will be staying with us?"
"She will. Of course, she will have to bunk with you."
"Oh. Okay."
"Unfortunately she looks rather frightened," murmured a new voice, this time belonging to a girl who looked almost identical to the other.
"Tarja?" he asked. "What are you doing here?"
"I came for a visit."
"I see... And Miss Aino?"
"Yeah..?" asked the blonde.
"You can stop frowning. They're good."
"They are? But... well..."
"You are wondering what they are?"
"Well... yes," Minako replied, staring at the twins, one wearing a tight outfit in dark tones while the other was in looking a little like something out of a Kurosawa movie.
"They're drow. Dark elves, except they've turned their backs on the whole 'hate and betrayal makes you stronger' junk."
"They did?"
"Tajra once went to great lengths to get a copy of an old television show."
"It was a classic!" protested the ninja-otaku, "The action and direction were wonderful... And the way the hero fought his way to rescue his mistress..."
"I rest my case."
'I might just like her,' Minako thought to herself as she saw the sparkly eyed look the drow girl was giving while:
