The prescence in the young martial artist's mind seemed confused, almost shocked. But it soon passed.
Will you allow me to search your mind, child? What you say is disturbing to me, and I must understand.
"Well, if you gotta. Guess it'd be easier than explainin' anyway."
From Ranma's point of view, it felt like fingers were trailing around on inside of his head.
From Vader's point however...
Images, thoughts, and feelings were being felt as freshly as though he were he were feeling them at that moment.
Of being taken from his mother at a young age.
Of constantly being on the move, never really settling down, never really learning much except scraps here and there.
Of brutal, harsh training.
Of meeting and leaving 'friends', not once, but twice.
Of a journey to a set of springs, and of the change that was forced on him.
Of the assassin that was sent after him.
Of meeting a family, and their shock at his change. And the annonucement that changed all their lives.
Of meeting old 'friends' that did not believe him so-at least at first.
The assassin's return, and her own change-from killer to lover.
Of the many battles that came his way.
As the images faded, the Dark Lord thought to himself There is some potential here...both from the boy, and his associates. All could be useful to the Emperor.
With this, he returned his attention to the boy.
Child, would it surprise you to know that the man you call 'father' is not?
"...You're saying that my Pop is...not my Pop?"
Indeed. I am an envoy of your true father. He only recently discovered you were alive, and he wishes to meet with you.
"An' why should I trust you?"
Search your feelings, child. Trust the instincts that you are so proud of. Does what I say sound like a lie?
The boy had to think a little at that. Finally..."No. I guess not."
Very well. A small detachment of forces will be landing soon. I will be among them. You will soon leave this planet...and realise your true fate.
