Finally able to adjust his eyes to the light enough to see, he looked around and saw what was basically a beach that could have been anywhere. There wasn't enough at the moment to really tell where it was, and he couldn't be sure that he wasn't a long way from where he'd started. A glance down to the shoreline told him that there was debris brought up by the tide.
But what most interested him was the fact that he saw others laying there on the beach with him. They looked to be fellow crewmembers, and as far as he could tell, they'd likely arrived the same way he did. By what he could see, they weren't awake yet, and were probably going to wake up feeling just as bad as he had.
Frowning, he made his way over to the nearest, and saw that it was the girl that he'd saved from the falling mast. She was currently unconscious, but breathing. So he wasn't too concerned in that direction.
Without the immediate danger hanging over them, he was able to look her over, and saw that she was a:
