Which was brought him to Sendai, and the home of the the Shinguichi sword style. There was a dojo that was obviously quite old, and he could tell that it'd been an important place. That fit in with what he'd heard about it, as the stories had spoke of the style's demon slaying abilities, and the special sword that was the family's prized possession. The strength of it was definately welcoming, and he'd wanted to learn it.
Just getting to be heard took some doing, and then trying to become a student was much harder. The fact that it was a dangerous path, was something that was repeated time and again. Added to how special the style was, it was clear that they didn't like to teach the style to just anyone.
But his dedication to becoming able to fight off the monsters, and to expanding his skills won them over, and he began training.
It took some time to learn the style, but his own talent, combined with his drive to succeed in this, made it so that he went much faster than was expected. His training was hard, and long through the days, but he did it well. Eventually, it became clear that he wasn't about to fail in this.
