"Hmmm..? Oh hi Akane."
Scowling slightly, the Heir to the Tendo School crossed her arms across her chest. "What's going on?"
"What ever do you mean, little sister?"
"I mean that you and that baka Ranma have been disappearing every night for the past few weeks!"
"So?"
"'So'?! What have you two been doing?!"
"Why would we be doing anything?"
"You two have been going out every night! Something has to be going on!"
"And how would you think that?"
"I saw the two of you coming home together and you were talking and laughing!"
'Think fast Nabiki... That might work...' "He's just been helping me out. A bit of tutoring if you will."
Akane looked incredulous. "Him tutoring you?"
"Exactly."
"What could he tutor you in any way?"
"Self defense."
"Huh?"
"He's been teaching me some fighting moves to protect myself."
"Why do you need to learn how to fight?"
"Simple. I'm not you."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I haven't been training most of my life to be a martial artist. But they seem to be popping out of the woodwork. And then there are the regular things a girl has to watch out for when living in the big city. So Ranma-kun's been giving me some pointers so that I won't be stuck if I get into some trouble."
"So he's just been giving you some lessons?"
"Uh-uh. Nothing to worry about, little sister."
"Yeah right."
"If that's everything, I'll just go in my room now. Big test coming up, you know." Nabiki made her way into her room before Akane could ask anything else. But she didn't know that:
