The most common type of zombie were what the T-Counters were referring to as "Kuang-shi." These were rudimentarily intelligent, with claws and fangs, and an incredible resistance to physical injury.
The one, sort-of, Japanese speaker among them didn't even know what to make of phrases like "chi-empowered" but figured it was some kind of martial arts term. Meaning that it just took a lot of force to bring them down. He was...partially right.
After the Kuang-shi were the creatures calling themselves "Gaki." They tended to be stronger, more intelligent, and seemed to produce some sort of strange energy. No battle had yet occured between the Gaki and the T-Counters, so there were only conjectures as to their abilities.
Among the Gaki were several beings of greater power and unique appearance. The greatest of these, they assumed by the way the others deferred to her, was the Queen of the Dead. But there were several other "generals" beneath her. They'd counted maybe seven of these self-declared "Onis."
The common thread of the kuang-shi, gaki and oni were that they could be recognized as once having been human. The Queen of the Dead, in fact, still appeared human aside from that vicious wound in her back.
Aside from the zombies were the animal variations. Most of these given names by the observers in watching occasional conflict between the animals. There were the hell-hounds and the howlers...two dog variations. Someone had noted some giant spiders somewhere, but no clear look had been received of those. There was the alligator of course, though many of the observers were now calling it dragon...it didn't seem to breath fire, but, who knew.
Someone noted that the lickers were still present and resembled themselves mostly, though they two had eyes that burned with new power.
And, of course, there was the King of Hell...
Umbrella had created a whole new underworld....it should have been proud.
