Kasumi yawned during his recitation, which stole a bit of his thunder.
Nabiki began taking bets about another lame attempt, and that he was seeing a new girl he had down in Okayama.
Akane was happy to see him go off. Really. Told him so right to his face. Even helped him out the door. When it appeared that he'd forgotten to pack, she helpfully tossed his still-loaded backpack to him. That he caught it with his face was deemed pathetic by Nabiki but otherwise not commented on.
Genma and Soun shrugged and speculated, based on Nabiki's musings, that Ranma really did have a girlfriend down there. Of course, what they were hoping was that Akane would overhear and go off to keep an eye on him - the two would realize how much they loved each other - they'd get married right away - and then they'd have kids so that Genma could start a NEW training journey.
The mood was not helped when Shampoo showed up in a teenie tiny sailor seifuku with the statement that if Ranma wanted to play adult-type games like monster-and-underage-schoolgirl that she was available.
No, that hadn't helped at all.
For a moment there, Nabiki had wondered if Akane was literally going to explode.
Then it had actually gotten worse with the arrival of Ukyo, Kodachi, Tatewaki, Ryoga, and Mousse.
The usual violence commenced. Ranma ended up in a canal three miles away, coughing water out of what was currently her lungs and wondering what kami had been so offended.
"ACHOOOO!" Sailor Pluto looked around for a kleenex briefly.
Hmmmm. Time to manipulate things a little right here.
"Wow, it's going to be so great to visit Hokkaido," said a young girl on the train.
Ranma smiled as he looked over the map. Yeah, it was... "Hokkaido?"
A glance outside, he checked the sun's position. "Oh hell."
Unconcerned by martial artists banging their head against a compartment wall, the train continued to chug its way North.
