And then he turned and waved at her.
That nearly made her hair stand on end, and she did jump back. As far as she could tell, there should have been no way that he'd be able to do more than sense her presence, but he'd acted if he could see her. Which should have been impossible for him to do.
Of course, the fact that he should never have been able to stand in front of her didn't seem to be stopping him from doing so.
"Why, hello there," he said to her, "I didn't think that you'd stop to pay a vist to me."
"Why would I?"
"I know. It's not like I really have the time to visit you lately, but then, I knew that you could handle it. You were a chip right off the old block."
"Humph. And who are you supposed to be?" she asked as she scowled at him and pointed her staff in his direction.
"Xellos, mazoku extrordinaire, of course. And what would you be calling yourself now?"
"Pluto."
"Oh. Fits somehow."
"Really... And what may I ask this visit is about?"
"Pluto. I am your father."
"Nooooooooooooooooo!"
"Funny how you always do that. I mean it's been how long since you were born, and you always do the same thing."
"How could this be?!"
"I'd think at your age, you'd know. I met your mother long ago, and we got to the point where we could go to bed, and I slipped her out of her clothing so that I could..."
"Stop it!" she snarled, "Stop!"
"You're always so much fun, you know that?"
"Grrrr..."
"It's funny though. Everyone says that we're a lot alike, but then I don't see it. You're still my baby girl."
