Walking along, Lina thought, 'What do I do about those bandits? If I used Dragon Slave, I'll have to deal with Amelia trying to learn the Dragon Slave. I don't want to go through that again. My power should have increased and I do have both the talismans and the stone'
Lina smiled wickedly. 'I've always wanted to cast that spell.'
Frowning, she looked back along the trail. 'I could swear I saw someone following us. Must be another a leftover monster from Randy's group.'
After a few days of walking, Lina and co. made it to where that wandering merchant was waylaid by bandits.
Amelia jumped into the fray and like last time, made a total mess of things.
Walking up to Amelia, Lina asked, "What is with you?"
One of the bandits grabbed Lina and said, "Now hold on a minute."
Winking at the bandit, Lina said, "Let go of me, or I might hit you."
By the time she had finished her lina, Lina had punched the bandit in the face.
"You just did," the bandit ground out, as he collapsed to the ground.
Lina started tearing into the bandits with physical attacks. 'Nothing beats beating up bandits for stress relief.'
Amelia yelled, "That's the way, Miss Lina!"
The bandit leader yeleld, "LINA?!!"
The leader of the bandits examined Lina closely. "Age about 14 or 15. Sharp tounge. No breasts. That's her! It's Lina Inverse the Bandit Killer!"
One of his gang yelled, "That's the Natural Enemy of All Who Live?"
Another yelled, "That flat chested little kid?"
Lina flushed and clenched her fists. "That did it."
After activating her talismans, she went into a chant that she knew but had rarely used. Amelia looked at Lina in shock as she heard the spell.
"Th-that spell."
Lina pointed both hands at the fleeing bandits and gave a wicked smile.
"BLAST BOMB!"
The multiple Busrt Flare equivalent explosions blasted the bandits away and reduced the trees in its area of effect to ash, reducing the chance of setting the forest on fire. No fuel to burn, no fire.
Lian turned around and held two fingers in a V formation. "Victory."
Gourry shook his head. "You...."
Prince Phil had his mouth open and eyes bugged out by the spell. Ameila blinked a few times and then got stars in her eyes.
"That was incredible! The Blast Bomb!"
Lina smirked. 'No use of the Dragon Slave, no chance of being annoyed by her trying to learn it. I don't mind teaching her the Blast Bomb. She can't cast it on her own. Smooth sailing from here on out.'

Quite a ways behid Lina, a living mummy had just seen the entire battle. His eyes widened in shock.
"That was the Blast Bomb! How in the Nine Hells did she cast that?"
Zolf brought to mind the moves she did before she cast the spell. Stroking his chin, he stared at the bracelet on Lina's left arm.
"Mystic talismans. She brought them in front of her and all four of them glowed. Magic boosters. Not the Philsopher's Stone, but something that might be of interest to Lord Zelgadis."
Zolf quickly found a hiding space and started chanting, while pulling out a small crystal sphere.
"Master Zelgadis? Are you there?"
Zelgadis' face appeared in the crystal and looked at Zolf with some amusement. "Having problems, Zolf?"
Zolf shook his head. "Not quite. I just caught up to Lina Inverse and watched her defeat another bandit group."
Zelgadis shrugged. "So?"
"She cast the Blast Bomb."
Zelgadis eyes widened. "What? How? The Philospher's Stone?"
Zolf replied, "No. She's wearing four talismans. They seem to be a set of magical amplifiers. She activated them and then cast Blast Bomb."
"I.... see. Change of plans. Follow her, until I get there. Those talismans might be a satisfactory secondary goal."
"Of course, Lord Zelgadis," Zolf replied.
The crystal went blank and Zol looked in the direction that Lina went. "I have no idea where you are going, but you aren't getting off that easily."

Elsewhere, a person dressed like a preist had wandered into a burned out church. He was carrying a staff and kept his eyes shut.
"A piece of the Claire Bible should be here."
The man knelt down and picked up a book.
"Hmmm. A hymn book to Cephied? Not the Claire Bible, but still annoying."
The tome burst into flames and the man tossed the ashes away. Spotting another book, he reached for it, when he noticed his right arm was different somehow.
"Something's wrong," the man said, opening his violet eyes.
He stared long and hard at his right arm. After a good thirty minutes wracking his mind, he finally figure it out. He looked at his left arm. Patted his belt and right below his neck with his right hand.
"The Demon Blood Talismans are gone. How?"
The man lifted his staff into the air and then brought it down. The church exploded in a gout of fire and lightning.
"I'll have to talk to the Beastmaster about this."
The man turned into a large black cone with gold runes at the base. The cone vanished from the burning rubble.
