Slayers Restrike: At The Inn [Episode 120937]

by Disruptor

As Lina and co. entered the inn, Lina felt a chill run up her spine.

'Probably nothing,' she thought. 'I do have THAT to deal with.'

Lina sighed and shook her head.

"Something wrong, Lina?" Gourry asked.

"What? Oh. No. Nothing. Just...thinking," Lina replied, hurriedly

Gourry just looked at Lina and let the matter drop. The group of four made their way over to a table. Before Lina could sit down, Amelia had pulled the chair out in respect. Lina, shaking her head, gave an amused snort.

"I take it the Blast Bomb impressed you?" Lina asked.

Ameila nodded. "I would love to be a Great Warrior of Jusitce and follow in your footsteps."

Lina rolled her eyes and looked at the ceiling. "It's not quite like that."

Gourr mumbled, "It's very much NOT like that if you ask me."

Lina let that comment slide, as Amelia kept talking. "Please Miss Lina, teach me how to cast the Blast Bomb."

Lina stroked her chin for several seconds. While Gourry looked at Lina with some alarm.

"She wouldn't. Would she?" Gourry whispered to himself.

Lina flippedover her left hand and tapped the talisman afixed to her wrist. "Even if I taught you the spell, you can't cast it. I have theese talismans that boost my magical abilities. No Gourry, I did not take them from a bandit gang. I bought them with my own money."

Gourry closed his mouth before saying anything.

Lina rubbed the talisman on her left wrist and smiled. "I'll teach you the spell if you want, but it will cost a bit of money. I do have to make a living."

Prince Phil nodded his acceptance. "That's a reasonable request. I'm sure we'll be able to find some sort of magical booster to allow Ameila to cast the spell."

Lina grimaced at the thought. 'I tend to doubt it.'

Prince Phil and Ameila talked amongst themselves, while Gourry tugged on Lina's sleeve.

Gourry whispered, "You aren't seriously going to teach her that spell?"

Lina whispered back, "Yes, I am. She won't be able to cast it without a major amplifier or someone lending their energy to her to allow her to cast it. I''m not telling her about that second part though. As to the amplifiers? Well, the ones that could do it are gone or owned. Such as the Black Crystals and Crystal Amplifier in the destroyed category and like my Talismans in the owned category."

Gourry breathed a sigh of relief. A strange look came over his face as he continued to whisper to Lina.

"Something major is bothering you, Lina. It has something to do with that stringless metal bow you grip tightly every so often."

Lian got a real pained look on her face, as she hissed, "Gourry. Please. Drop it. I don't want to discuss it right now."

Gourry nodded. "I'll leave it alone for now. Sooner or later, you're going to have to discuss it with someone."

Lina rubbed her eyes in supposed weariness to get the tears out of her eyes, so no one would see her cry in public.

Lina spoke a bit louder to Ameila. "I'll start teaching you the spell tomorrow, as we make our way to Seyruun. It'll pass the time"

Ameila nodded.

Lina pointed in the air and grinned. "Now! Let's eat!"
