"Ah, the smell of fresh blood in the morning," she said, as she enjoyed the feelings of despair and fear being radiated from her pets' meal.
She stopped, when she felt a presence appear behind her. Turning around, she saw her loyal priest kneeling.
"Why are you here Xellos?"
Xellos clenched his staff tightly and said, "Somehow the Demon Blood Talismans have been taken from me."
Zelas Metallium stared at Xellos for a long moment. "How did that happen?"
"I don't know. They were taken in such a way, that I didn't even feel them when they were gone."
Zelas tapped her chin with her left finger, while a cigarette in a cigarette holder appeared in her right. She took a few puffs on the ciggarette, as she thought.
"Something has the followers of Vrabazard upset. I wonder if there's any connection."
Xellos opened his eyes. "The Goldens Dragons are upset? What could they be upset about? The last time they were, they killed the Aincent Dragons. There are no wizards upseting their perfect world outside the barrier."
Beastmaster took some more puffs. "I have no idea, Xellos. I'd send you after the Demon Blood Talismans, but until there is more information, I'd rather not. Go back to hunting for Claire Bible manuscripts. When the talismans turn up, we'll take it from there."
Xellos asked, "Beastmaster? Why aren't......?"
"Something about this feels very wrong, Xellos. I'm going to see if Dynast will send Sherra to find out what's going on. Whoever has the talismans might know what you are, but Sherra isn't seen all that often. Besides,....." Beastmaster trailed off. "On second thought, try to find out what the Golden Dragons are upset about. It might be important.
"I understand," Xellos replied.
Zelas watched as her most powerful servant warped away. "I'd better talk to Dynast. Sherra is going to have to be very careful."
