Ranma clenched his teeth as he read it. He was a yojimbo, damn it! Not a gigolo to be passed around like some party favor!
"Oh dear, I don't think Akane would be interested," said Kasumi. "She only likes other girls."
"That's precisely why I wanted to point this out," said Soun.
"I AM NOT A LESBIAN!" shouted someone from the stairway. "I JUST HATE BOYS!"
"That's not particularly proven," said Nabiki, going ahead and entering the room and enjoying the baiting of her little sister. "Why do you think Kuno's going on about teaching you the joys of heterosexuality?"
"Huh?" asked Ranma.
"There was an incident last year in Middle School," said Nabiki, smirking. "Akane and one of her friends. Probably innocent."
"IT WAS ALL A STUPID MISUNDERSTANDING!" came the still offscreen Akane's comment.
"Since then a large group of boys have been trying to convince her not to give up on their gender, however their methods have been a little," said Nabiki, pausing as if searching for the right word, "bizarre. Self-defeating. Inane. Violent. Stupid."
"I see," said Ranma. "So that's why you wanted me to guard her."
"I CAN TAKE CARE OF MYSELF!" yelled Akane's voice.
"We'll see," said Ranma. Actually this was good. If this girl were only interested in other girls, then he was safe. He was a yojimbo after all. Getting in this girl's panties would be counterproductive.
